How might I effectively crush Oreo cookies to put on top of my ice cream?

I need a good technique that won't send crumbs flying everywhere. Thank you all. Much love.

I am all for the Zip-Loc method, however sometimes I double bag them so they don't leak. I have also processed them in a food processor, which is great, as you can get crumbs in any size from large crumbles, to smooth like sand.

Did you say we are invited over??? :-)How might I effectively crush Oreo cookies to put on top of my ice cream?
Either put them in a zip top bag, and smash them with a rolling pin or meat mallet, or put them in the food processor.
try putting them in a zip-loc bag and running a rolling pin over them
Is this a serious question? If so, place them in a zip lock plastic bag the kind used for sandwiches or freezers. Take a cup and crush them lightly. This works well with any kind of cookie, cracker that you wish to crumble.
get a spoon and mash it, not fast just slowly and carefully. also, scrape off the white stuff. unless you want it in it.
Put them in a Ziploc bag and use a can to either roll over it or smash it.
put the cookies in a plastic bag and roll something over them or just roll the bag around in your hands. Then you can just pour them on your ice cream and save some for later. I love oreos on ice cream too. :)
put them in a gallon zip lock back and crush with your hand or a pan so you can hold the handle
put the cookies in a ziploc bag, and crush with a rolling pin.
Put the cookie in a plastic baggie, and smush it.
Put them into a bag...
I would put the oreos in a freezer bag and hit it with a pan or you can use a rolling pin. Whichever one is easier. Good Luck!!
if u have a food processor u could use it for a couple of seconds or a blender works fine too..
Put them into a zip lock bag and smash away.
Depending on the quantity I need, I use either of 3 methods:

1) For large quantities (like for Holiday baking or ice cream parties) I use a food processor (and any leftover goes into tightly sealed baggie and frozen.

2) For medium sized portions, use a freezer bag (sandwich bags tend to be too fragile) and after sealing in the cookies pass a rolling pin over them until desired ';crumbliness'

3) For just a one or two cookies (one serving) I take a sheet of kitchen paper or napkin and wrap the cookie(s) in it and use a ceramic cup to smash into crumbs.
Try this Gizelle: Put the cookies in a zip lock bag and use a rolling pin to crush them. Works every time.
The best way is to put them in a plastic bag and crunch them with a rolling pin. Or put them in foil. Or put them in a microwave for 30 seconds and they just crumble.
put in ziploc bag and then crush with rolling pin
A food processor or one of those hand held chopping gadgets.
A ziplock bag and a rolling pin or a blender
a blender works very well. if you cannot do that. use a clean dish towel. and put 6 to 8 cookies in it. pull up the corners to make the towel like a little pouch.

place it on a cutting board and whack the hell out of the cookies with a rooling pin.

or you could beat a sibling it untill the cookies are crumbs

this is less effective but much more fun.
Put them in a zip lock bag, and smash them.
Put the Oreos in a ziploc bag or any clean plastic bag and give it a few good whacks with your rolling pin or the bottom of heavy pan, works every time. Enjoy
put them in a Ziploc bag,and hammer them softly.
zip lock page was crush them
Just put them in a zip lock bag and make sure its sealed tight. Then, use a rolling pin or pot/pan and crush.. No fuss! Good luck. : )
How about putting them in a baggie and crushing them gently with a rolling pin?

...wow... didn't realize this was rocket science.
put them in two zip lock bags punch some small air holes in the bags so the bag will not pop, then place under front whell of car and drive over them, then back up to where you started
put them in a ziploc and smash away
Before placing in ziplock bag ( if you prefer to use a bag) seperate the two cookies from the creamy middle. So you get the cookie crumbs and not the added ';cookie cream';.
