Does anyone know if Ben and Jerry's ice cream is vegetarian?

I can't find the ';V'; symbol on the tub! I'm guessing that Phish food isn't veggie due to the marshmallow, but maybe the other varieties are? I've checked the ingredients and they look harmless, just wondered if anyone else had more info. Thanks.Does anyone know if Ben and Jerry's ice cream is vegetarian?
Good news it's suitable for vegetarians - even Phish Food.

(They use pectin not geletine in the marshmallow)

I found the info on their website

Nope. Its another one of the many lovely things that you cant enjoy if your a veggie. Leave the dark side. Come and play with the rest of us. Life is so much better when you dont have to scrutinise everything you eat in case it used to be part of an animal.
There is no beef nor pork in any Ben %26amp; Jerry. In fact most of their ice cream is kosher too.
If there is any gelatine inside, it isn't vegetarian.
I checked that link and it is!
i think you mean Vegans?

people who do not eat dairy? or cheese.. or wear leather?

but yeah i never heard of any company putting meat into ice cream
I think most of the Ben and Jerry's products are vegetarian - but good thought about the marshmallows. Since they have been purchased by a bigger company, they may have changed where they buy ingredients, but I know that Ben %26amp; Jerry (when they owned the joint) tried to keep everything vegetarian. I would be surprised if that had been changed, but ya never know!
I think they would be considered veggie, but nor vegan ofcourse...

but i would have to say...even if i was 100% veggie (I am 75-90%)...I do not think I could give up Phish Food! It is better then..well...let's just say it is awesome ')
Honest, some people are a bit dim, aren't they? Please, please, please, think before just hammering away on your keyboard %26amp; hitting the submit button.

Ice cream may not contain yer actual dead flesh, but it can contain substances that are made from dead flesh, eg gelatine (the boiled-up remains of dead cow skin, dead horses' hooves, bones, ears, tails etc).
It's vegetarian but not vegan.
It's definitely not ethical by any standards, or causing least harm or showing compassion for other beings, but I guess it is within the realm of the commonly accept definition of ';vegetarian'; to mean someone who actually eats animal products.
I don't know but the Phish Food and Caramel Chew Chew are too yummy not to eat.
Ice cream, is made from Milk. Milk is a Protein. This comes out of a cow. Hence = Not Vegan/Vegetarian, or whatever the non-meat term is nowadays.

Honestly it doesn't matter. It's milk.

It's not like they had to slaughter the cow upside down to get the milk.

It might not contain Meat... but on the food group scale, though it's dairy product, it still high in calcium and protein. Huge family of Meat :)
No, actually it contains quite a lot of beef and pork.
Yes, except ';Chunky Monkey';. It has 1lb of beef in each pint
what do you mean about the marshmallow bit? marshmallow comes from a tree...
