Do vegetarians eat cream cheese?

I recentlly dicided to become a vegetarian and am getting used to what foods i can and cannot eat. I know cream cheese is made from dairy products but are there any other animal products in it that I should know about? do vegetarians normally eat cream cheese?Do vegetarians eat cream cheese?
yeah, unless you're vegan. vegetarians don't eat dead animals or fish.Do vegetarians eat cream cheese?
There's nothing wrong with cream cheese.

But jello and yogurt and jelly like candies involve an ingredient called ';gelatin'; which derives from animals.

It's actually in a lot of things. Look into that. Here's the wikipedia link for it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gelatin
most vegetarians stay away from dairy, vegans advoid it like the plague:-)

..
vegetarians are allowed to but i guess it depends on the person

vegans....definitely no
Cream cheese does not contain rennet, (at least not the major brands) so it's safe for vegetarians. Many other cheeses will have rennet- scrapings from the inside of a calf's stomach- and those are not considered vegetarian.
usually vegitarians will eat cream cheese but vegans wont because it has lactose in it which comes from a cow
vegetarians will eat cream cheese most of the time. some will not eat dairy at all while others will eat milk and eggs.

the term for this is ova vegetarian (eggs) or a lacto vegetarian (dairy). the thing that makes cheeses taboo is the fact that some are made of Rennet, which is extracted from the stomach lining of cows and other animals.
yes, but not vegans.

just be sure to look over the ingredients in most foods and always tell your waitress that you're a vegetarian when you go out to eat because restaraunts are always adding meat to their food without informing people about it.
Yes, vegetarians do eat cream cheese and other cheese as log as they do not use animal rennets. Even though I do know a few that will still eat any cheese. Vegetarians also will eat unfertilized eggs. Gelatin is food vegetarians avoid because of how gelatin is made. Most people also do not realize that normal marshmallows are not vegetarian because they contain gelatin.
yeah my best friend is vegetarian and she LOVE bagels and cream cheese....Im pretty sure you can find organic cream cheese that isnt made from dairy products at like a Whole Foods Market or Trader Joe's or even the organic section of your local grocery store...
vegan's don't eat cream cheese - vegetarians do
YES! I happen to be a vegetarian, and I can't believe how clueless they can be. I guess if you were a vegan though than they wouldn't. They don't even eat cheese or milk, or any other dairy product.
What is the reason behind your vegetaianism, obviously there isnt any meat in cream cheese, and even if there was something from dead animals, they dont kill animals to make it. And vegans dont eat anything that is made of animals, or comes from animals.
i do, and a lot of it! i love bagels mmmmm

vegetarians don't eat the actual animal flesh,

vegans on the other hand, don't eat anything that is an animal or product of animal.
There are not any hidden animals products in cream cheese. Its one of the few safe vegetarian cheeses. Vegans don't eat cream cheese.
It depends on if the cream cheese contains rennet and/or gelatin, both of those products are the insides of an animals body, and some cheese's contain either of the products to harden the cheese or settle it, but some cheese's replace gelatin for starch and so do some jello's switch gelatin for starch so it can be suitable for vegetarians, if the cream cheese was suitable for vegetarians it would say on the label, if it doesn't say so, then read the ingredients if it doesn't contain rennet, gelatin or glycerin then sure go ahead eat it, its animal free and I bet its real tasty.
