Tea stain on cream carpet?

Please can anyone help. Yesterday my dog knocked over a cup of black tea onto a cream carpet. I blotted the liquid out and then rubbed it with a damp cloth and washing up liquid. Covered with a dry cloth but have noticed today that it is very vissible. Does anyone have any tried and tested remedies? Putting the dog down is not an option, it won't help the stain!Tea stain on cream carpet?

Step 1: Blot up as much of the tea stain as possible by using a clean white cloth

Step 2: Pour cold water onto the tea stain and blot up the stained area again.

Step 3: Use a carpet stain remover according to the directions.

Step 4: If traces of the tea stain remain, sponge a mild bleach like vinegar onto the stained area and allow it to sit for 7-10 minutes.

Step 5: Sponge the area thoroughly with water and blot to remove any traces of the vinegar.

Important: always check in inconspicuous place stain remover and vinegar.
Try it on a hidden bit first...........

a teaspoon full of bleach in a cup of warm water and using a dishcloth fairly wet with the solution, dab it till it has gone. Then rinse well. Be carefull.
Go to the grocery store and buy some Spot Shot. It takes out stubborn stains, even pet odors if the dog happens to have another accident. It has a really clean fresh smell too.
