My favorite version of the pie is with crushed fresh strawberries spooned over individual servings.

Or if you have any crushed pineapple , drain it good, add a couple tbs of cornstarch, cook until it thickens. Then cool and put on top od cheese cake. You can also use peach preserves, strawbwrry preserves etc.
yes you can. if you want to top it with strawberry filling, you can boil the strawberries in some water (add a little sugar) then thicken it with cornstarch.
you can use any kind of fruit filling or even jam if you have it ..just be sure it is sweet....if you use just fresh fruit, be sure to mix it with sugar to sweeten it up.....you can even mix in bananas with it if you want....your friends or family will like the variety..
