for my birthday, i am having a two-layered tiered cake, its colored butter cream icing. i want to put fondant leaves on it.How long does it take fondant to dry? and is it okay to use it on a butter cream cake?
fondant drys very quickly, depending on how thinly you've rolled it out. usually you need to work fast to avoid it drying too fast. Traditionally, wedding cakes are made with buttercream, and fondant used over it....so its perfectly normal to use fondant on buttercream cake.
