This is the recipe I have for caramel frosting. One stick of butter, one cup of dark brown sugar, one teaspoon of vanilla extract, and one fourth cup of heavy cream, and one pound of powdered sugar. Put the butter, and brown sugar in a saucepan and cook it till it boils(low heat) then you remove the pan and add the cream, put the pan back on the burner and let it cook till it boils again, then you remove the pan and stir in the vanilla. Cool the mixture (about 30-40 minutes) and pour it in a mixing bowl, add the powdered sugar and beat till its nice an smooth. Good Luck.
I make these every Thanksgiving and Christmas morning.
1 package Rhodes frozen white bread
3/4 c brown sugar
1/2 c whipping cream
1/4 c chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350.
Thaw the bread.
In a saucepan, combine brown sugar and cream. Heat until sugar dissolves. pour into a 9x13i nch baking pan sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Sprinkle pecans over top. (I also sometimes put the nuts in the cinnamon rolls rather than the sauce)
Lightly flour a space on counter or cutting board. Roll out bread into nice square, brush with melted or soft margarine or butter. Sprinkle with cinnamon, sugar and chopped pecans or walnuts.(pecans or walnuts optional). Roll and slice 1 1/2 or 2 '; slices . Place cinnamon rolls on pecans bake at 350 degrees 15-20 minutes. (when rolls are browned and sauce is bubbly). Remove from oven and immediately invert onto a serving platter.
